Castle & Key Distillery
Frankfort, United States
Craft distillery on McCracken Pike near Frankfort, Kentucky, restoring Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr.’s Old Taylor Distillery (built 1887) with its castle-like architecture, springhouse and sunken garden—historically linked to early bourbon tourism. Purchased as ruins in 2014 and revived as Castle & Key, the site sources local ingredients and distills spirits sold from its own production. Grounds admission is free; tours, a bar, seasonal music and event spaces are offered. Closed Monday–Tuesday; Wednesday–Saturday from 10:30 a.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. (bars close earlier than grounds).
