Speyside single malt distillery founded in 1897 by John Hopkins beside the Granty Burn—still the only distillery to use that burn. Charles C. Doig designed a three-level hillside layout with a pagoda ventilator; first cask filled on New Year’s Eve 1897 for Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. Owned by Inver House Distillers since 1992; opened for visitors around its 125th anniversary.
