Speyside single malt distillery in Dufftown. William Grant began building by hand with his nine children in 1886 and named it Glenfiddich (Gaelic: Valley of the Deer); first spirit on Christmas Day 1887. Remains entirely family-owned, with on-site coppersmiths and cooperage; visitor centre at the distillery.
