  Islay distillery built by Hunter Laing & Co. on a site by Loch Ardnahoe chosen in 2015; ground broken in late 2016 as Islay’s ninth distillery. First distillation ran in October 2018, with cask 001 filled on 9 November 2018. Process water comes from Loch Ardnahoe; barley is peated, and the distillery uses worm-tub condensers—unique on Islay—plus long descending lyne arms. Guided tours and warehouse tastings are offered.

  Islay distillery established in 1846 near Port Askaig on the Sound of Islay (Gaelic: “Sound of Islay”); Diageo describes it as the island’s largest producer. Demolished and rebuilt in the early 1970s with six stills reproduced to keep the traditional profile; malt comes from Port Ellen and process water from Loch nam Ban. It makes both peated and unpeated single malt. A visitor centre with guided tours and tastings reopened after a 2022 renovation.
