Lowland distillery in Pencaitland, East Lothian, about 30 minutes from Edinburgh. Founded in 1825 by John and George Rate as Milton Distillery and renamed Glenkinchie in 1837, it is often called “The Edinburgh Malt” and known for a light, floral and grassy Lowland style. It is also described as the Lowland home of Johnnie Walker and operates a visitor centre with guided tours and tastings.
