  Campbeltown distillery founded by William Mitchell in 1872; production ceased in 1925 and resumed in 2004 after a rebuild by Mitchell’s Glengyle Ltd (J&A Mitchell). Its single malt is bottled as Kilkerran—the Glengyle name was already trademarked for a blend. Floor maltings are done at sister distillery Springbank; Glengyle typically runs only about three months a year (October–December). Tours and warehouse tastings are offered year-round.

  Glen Scotia Distillery

  Campbeltown single malt distillery founded in 1832 as Scotia Distillery at 12 High Street. It still maintains much of its original design, including fermenters, stillroom and dunnage warehouse dating from the 1830s. One of three remaining Campbeltown distilleries, it produces peated and unpeated single malts. Distillery tours, tastings and an on-site shop are available Monday to Saturday.

  Campbeltown distillery established in 1828 on the site of Archibald Mitchell’s illicit still. It claims to be Scotland’s only distillery to complete 100% of production on one site, including traditional floor maltings. Three single malts are made here—Springbank, Longrow (peated) and Hazelburn—with whisky never chill-filtered or artificially coloured. Visitor tours are offered in Campbeltown.
